Jaonere - Dotted Line (Official Music Video)
BIO
London-based singer, songwriter Jaonere has been singing since he can remember. With a diverse list of musical influences, Jaonere pulls inspiration from everywhere. From listening to rock and motown with his father, mimicking the hi-life his mother would play as she cooked or staying up late to watch Trevor Nelson’s Lick Chart on MTV Base with his siblings, he knew he wanted a career in music.
He started getting booked for various gigs in central london in 2018, primarily performing covers and promoting his single “Journey” which explores the evolution of a young man navigating his way through life. Flawlessly merging elements of R&B and indie-rock, Jaonere highlights through his melodic harmonies the frustration of committing to something he hasn’t quite “signed up for” on his 2019 release 'Dotted Line', which was the first release from his 2020 debut EP “All We Have is Now. On this soulful yet introspective performance, Jaonere reveals a more personal and intimate side.
Nearing towards the end of 2020, Jaonere had a lot of time, like many people did, to think about his identity, how he views himself, how he viewed the world, and how so many things just get misunderstood. He put all of these thoughts into his single “Redefine”.
Carrying such a heavy influence from 90’s R&B, Jaonere gifted us with his single “Shifts” in 2021. This was an ode to all of the artists in the 90’s that he was influenced by. The visuals and lyrics for “Shifts” portrayed Jaonere in a more provocative light which hadn’t been seen before.
Touching on his spirituality, Jaonere released his single “Pray” in 2022 along with a gothic visual that can be left to many interpretations. The song theme is reminiscent of “Dotted Line” but there are undertones of a sense of hope.
2023 birthed the long awaited single, “See Me”. Jaonere explores the notion of being in a “labyrinth” type of relationship.
"20 Minutes to Daylight" is the latest instalment from Jaonere where he explores the feeling of complete euphoria and infatuation.
